Japan's Ancient Asuka-Fujiwara Sites Recognised as UNESCO World Heritage
UNESCO has inscribed Japan's Asuka-Fujiwara archaeological sites in Nara Prefecture onto its World Heritage List, becoming the country's 27th designated site. The cluster of 19 ancient sites illuminates Japan's state formation between the sixth and eighth centuries.
