Deep-sea mining poses extinction threat to thousands of mollusc species, warns conservationists
The International Union for Conservation of Nature has flagged that deep-sea mining threatens the survival of 125 mollusc species living around hydrothermal vents, with 62 percent of known species now facing extinction risk from mineral extraction activities.
