Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged the nation to shift its attention away from political friction and toward leveraging foreign capital, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing to propel Malaysia forward. Speaking at a Pakatan Harapan rally in Muar on June 15, he emphasised that technological advancement should take precedence over divisive political contests.

The government is actively pursuing these strategic objectives by attracting investments in AI infrastructure and data facilities, Anwar noted, adding that his recent Japan trip included discussions on quantum computing applications. These initiatives, he argued, position Malaysia to emerge as a highly competitive economic player for the benefit of coming generations.

Anwar expressed frustration with what he characterised as perpetual bickering over religious and ethnic lines, questioning when such disputes would cease to dominate political discourse. "If politics is just about fighting day in and day out over Chinese, Malay, Indian, temples, and mosques, just endless bickering, when are we going to take care of this country?" he asked at the rally, which also featured PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa and Johor PH Chairman Aminolhuda Hassan.

Calling for unified action across all communities, Anwar rallied Malaysians to collaborate in nation-building efforts. He noted that international interest in Malaysia as an investment destination was already strong without extensive promotional campaigns, with investors actively seeking opportunities in the country.

As both PKR President and PH Chairman, Anwar also cautioned political leaders against weaponising communal grievances for electoral gain. Instead, he advocated for leadership grounded in addressing genuine public concerns and directing resources toward meaningful development that benefits all citizens.
